Marco Polo: A co-production of NCPA & Song and Dance Ensemble of the PLA Political Department

The production team of Marco Polo features a line-up consisting of leading artists at home and abroad, including the chief director for the Opening Ceremony of the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, Chen Weiya, playwright Zhao Daming, composer Zhang Qianyi and Vladimir Lukasevich, who is in charge of the lighting design. Marco Polo connected the civilizations of the East and West. More than seven centuries ago, the travelogue of his trip to China set off the dream of the mysterious Orient in other parts of the world. This dance-drama will not be a simple revival of the travelogue; instead, we explore the Middle Kingdom through the young Italian's dreams of ancient China.
