With the burgeoning of digital media nowadays, the relationship between the ordinary people and the media is gradually shifting. Such trend will definitely be enhanced in the future. What in store for us-both common people and the media-are a chance?as well as?a challenge.
Firstly, the most direct effect of the digital media in the future is bigger exposure to the information. Those events and the comments disseminate like virus in a short time. That enables us to?make choice?and decisions all by?ourselves，rather than simply swallow what the mainstream media feed. But the problem is that this phenomenon works for truth as well as rumors and junk information. So, it brings unprecedented challenge to media workers. We are looking forward to seeing responsible media who can reveal the truth and guide correct public opinion.
Secondly, the interaction between media and?users is undoubtedly to be intensified. With the help of the Internet, we can easily voice out opinions through micro blogs and social networking sites. And spontaneously, we ourselves are soaking in millions of different opinions and are influenced without any conscious. Thus we ourselves come into the role of media to some extent. Similarly, media shifts to audience who listen to people's voice. So, such two-way influence requires us to have the sense of responsibility ourselves. And of course the media will become more intimate to common people.
In addition, we can predict that the next few decades will see another big jump in technology, especial in the mobile phone field. Mobile phone has its irreplaceable strong points over other digital products. It is portable thus can satisfy people's demand of get to information immediately. Though today's mobile phone is intellectual and can be compared to a tiny computer, I don't think it is enough. It will take a step further in the future to catch up with media and people's demands. Reversely, media should be prepared to make some adjustment to such changes to provide better experience to increasingly growing population of mobile phone readers.
No matter what the future media will exactly be like, one thing for sure is that it can enrich our life, and broaden our horizon. As for the whole society, it will become more apparent for the quicker and more diverse way to spread the information through digital media.
