Family doctor Chen Wenchang recently made a home visit to 70-year-old Zhang Yongsheng to measure his blood pressure and adjust his medication plan. Visits like this have become routine for many households in Shizuishan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region.

Zhang has lived with hypertension for 12 years. His status as a stage 2 patient qualifies him for contracted family doctor services. The regular home visits have brought a sense of reassurance. "The doctor helps me adjust my medication every time and explains exactly how I should take it," Zhang said.
