0JAKARTA - A strong shallow earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted Central Sulawesi of Indonesia, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said Saturday.
The USGS said on its website the quake measuring 6.6 on the Rchter scale. ?
The quake struck at 16:41 pm Jakarta time (0941 GMT) with epicenter at 27 km southwest Parigi Mountong of Central Sulawesi and with a depth of 10 km, an official of the agency told Xinhua by phone.
The intensity of the quake was believed to be 4 MMI (Modified Mercally Intensity) in Palu town of Central Sulawesi, the official said.
