Suspected US drone attacks kill 5 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD -?Suspected US drone Monday night fired five missiles at a house near Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan tribal agency in northwest Pakistan, killing at least five persons and wounding four others, local TV channels reported.
The reports said that five missiles were fired hitting a house in Malay Khan Serai area. So far it is not clear as to what was the possible target of the attack of the spy plane, nor are the total casualties certain. ?
Local authorities have confirmed the attack in North Waziristan, a volatile tribal area bordering South Waziristan, the hometown of Tehrek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leadership, on one side and Afghanistan on the other. The death toll is feared to increase.
A CIA base was attacked in south Afghanistan killing seven US intelligence operatives last year. The attack was allegedly attributed to Haqqani network of militants believed to be based in North Waziristan tribal areas.
The US believes that Haqqani network that have connections with Al-Qaeda is responsible for the ongoing unrest in Afghanistan. Leadership of the network is apparently target of such attacks, officials said.
