Elderly couple marries a month after meeting

They say it's never too late to find true love, and this story of a couple in their 80s tying the knot proves it.

According to Huaxi Metropolitan, the 88-year-old man and 86-year-old woman, both retired cadres in Chengdu, Sichuan province, met in a local nursing home, got to know each other while watching television together, and developed "strong feelings" for each other. Within a month of meeting each other, they got married.

"We're not like the youths in a rush to get married, to be with him is a natural thing and we just want to spend the remaining years together in happiness", said the old lady.

Besides watching television, the newlyweds also found they had many other hobbies in common, which strengthened their bond.

The couple made their commitment to each other to live and love each other forever and the nursing home prepared a marriage room for them.
