College man expelled for courting

A college student was expelled from school for courting a female student in Shangqiu University in Central China?ˉs Henan province, according to a school notice circulated online Monday.

The young man, surnamed Guo, expressed his love for a female classmate at the gate of a dormitory building despite warnings from teachers. Guo called the police and insulted teachers who discouraged his courtship, said the expulsion notice. According to an anonymous student source, Guo didn't do anything extreme but just expressed his love with a bunch of roses. Many students have expressed support for Guo. Shangqiu University forbids romance between students, according to the anonymous student.
