BEIJING -- The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced three more doping offense, bringing the total number of the positive cases to nine at last month's Beijing Olympic Games.

The IOC said in a statement issued on Monday that two hammer throw medalists from Belarus and a canoeist from Poland failed doping tests during the August 8-24 Beijing Games.

Silver medalist Vadim Deviatovsky and Ivan Tsikhan, bronze medallist and Adam Seroczynski, who placed fourth in the men's kayak double (K2) 1000m event were the offenders, said the IOC.

The IOC Disciplinary Commission, composed of Thomas Bach (Chairman), Denis Oswald and Gerhard Heiberg, met in Lausanne on the three pending doping cases from the Games.

The IOC Disciplinary Commission gave the two Belarusian hammer throwers the opportunity to provide further information until October 17, 2008. The decision by the IOC Disciplinary Commission will be taken once this information has been analyzed.

The decision concerning the Polish canoeist will be issued by the IOC Disciplinary Commission on October 8, 2008.

More than 4,700 doping tests were conducted at the Beijing Games.
