Picturesque Al-Khor is known for its old harbor, fishing boats, beaches, local markets and regional museum.
= Al-Rayyan Sports Club=
The purpose-built Al-Rayyan Sports Club will host soccer, baseball, softball, hockey and volleyball competitions.
The 25,000-seat main Al-Rayyan stadium, 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) from the city center, will stage its share of the soccer competition from November 28, while baseball, softball and hockey will be played at temporary outdoor venues.
= Al-Sadd Sports Club=
Qatar's oldest sports club will host waterpolo, sepak takraw and cue sports, as well as a portion of the soccer competition.
Founded in 1969, the Al-Sadd soccer club in 1988 became first Arabic team to win the Asian Champions League.
The Al-Sadd soccer stadium, 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) west of Doha, has been completely rebuilt for the Asian Games, with seating for 12,000 spectators.
= Doha Golf Club=
Home of the Asian Tour's Qatar Masters, Doha Golf Club is one of four single-event venues this Asian Games.
The 10-year-old championship course, 8 kilometers north of central Doha, is the only grass course in Qatar.
The 7,374-yard (6,740-meter) layout features eight artificial lakes, which serve as both water hazards and reservoirs for the irrigation system.
The golf tournament is set for December 8-11.
= Doha Racing & Equestrian Club=
The Doha Racing Club, with its floodlit grass track, is the home of horse racing in Qatar and will host equestrian events at the Games.
The club has a new 1,050-seat arena beside the racecourse for show-jumping and dressage.
Race meetings at the club, on the edge of Doha, take place every Thursday during the racing season from October to May, although gambling is not permitted.
= Doha Sailing Club=
Doha Bay and the Corniche waterfront will provide the backdrop for the 13 sailing events held out of the Doha Sailing Club.
The sailing club, located at the southern end of Doha Bay, has undergone extensive renovations to bring the facilities up to international standards.
= Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex=
The Venue of the ATP Qatar Open will stage the Asian Games tennis, soft tennis and squash competitions.
The center court holds 4,106 spectators, while eight new training courts and four squash courts have been built.
The soft tennis competition begins December 2, while the tennis and squash
tournaments finish December 14.
