Liangjiang eyes smart device industry

Technology devices fanatics in the southwest city of Chongqing rejoiced when they heard the news that Chongqing Lianglu Cuntan Tariff Bonded Zone signed a cooperation memorandum with Compal Smart Device Business Group (SDBG) on Nov 9 to boost the “made in Chongqing” smart device industry.
Local people will have a chance to be first testers of the most advanced wearable smart devices. SDBG began mass-production in its Chongqing factory in the fourth quarter of 2016. Major products include smart watches, tablets, and smart phones.

By 2020, Chongqing will introduce and incubate three to five wearable smart device development platforms and five to ten device research and development centers. The production value of the smart device industry will reach over 20 billion yuan ($2.92 billion).
Chongqing aims to build several industry cluster districts as part of its efforts to formulate a complete smart device industry system. Over 10 leading technology magnates and some 200 medium, small, and micro-sized enterprises will then settle down in Chongqing.

The Chongqing Lianglu Cuntan Tariff Bonded Zone is the only tariff bonded zone in inland China, which is an implementation zone for the national “Belt and Road” initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity.
