The Nanjing Chic Hills Music Festival held on April 18-19, 2015, saw a wide range of music genres energizing the crowds with seven bands on stage and rock, pop, hip-hop, rap, soul and fusion rhythm music.

Various bands from Jiangsu?and other parts of?China gave a memorable music feast to the festival-goers, placing Nanjing alongside Shanghai and Beijing as a city of choice for quality music concerts and festivals.

Pyroglyphix, a rock and rap group from Suzhou, Jiangsu province,?took the stage on the first day. The next day, another Suzhou-based rock group, Surging Wave, got things started.

Here Chase Stewart, an overseas student at?Nanjing University, shared with us his impressions of the Festival:

"Last Spring, the Nanjing International Festival was a two week event with live music, global cuisine, stores selling goods from all over the world, and a clothing donation for charity. This year's festival brought the energy and intensity from last year but it squeezed it into two days. There was Chinese, Nepalese, African, Middle Eastern, American and French food along with Belgian beer, microbrews, and cocktails to keep the festival goers hungry and happy each day," he said.

"The Nanjing Music Festival was a huge success, and something that the city needed. Let's rock it with more music and similar festivals," he added.
