Did you know that many well-known gadgets and other electronic equipment such as smart watches, 3D printers and Mac Mini keyboards are jointly designed in Dafeng, East China's Jiangsu province? Designers at Dafeng "No 1 Eastern Creative Industry Park" play important role in designing and producing many such gadgets, which increasingly become part of our daily lives. So much so that they are sought-after status items these days.

Dafeng No 1 Eastern Creative Industry Park came to being after a colossal 1.68 billion yuan ($271.11 million) investment by both local Dafeng and provincial Jiangsu governments. It aims to set up hundreds of enterprises and a talent pool of entrepreneurs and designers. It has allocated 10m yuan for business start-ups along with a "100 Million RMB Plan" set for the second phase of the project. It will gather over 200 creative industries and 1,500 creative talents, combining smart office, research and development design, incubation cultivation and creative experience all in one. It is set to build up a "creative industrial" base, a first in Jiangsu.

Dafeng's Creative Industry Park does not only suffice with local investments, but also reach out to the world of knowledge and technology. It has established over 10 university-industry cooperation bases in such universities like Jiangnan University and East China University of Science and Technology, as well as design and technology resource cooperation with enterprises from Taiwan and Hong Kong.
