The Kanas scenic area is located in the Altai Mountains near the very northern tip of Xinjiang. It borders Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Russia. Known as a “Pure Land in the Human Realm,” the area has received a number of honors, including the titles of “National Geological Park” and “National Forest Park.” It was included on the National Nature and Culture Heritage list.

Tuva village, on the south bank of Kanas Lake, was awarded as one of the six Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in China by China National Geography Magazine for its breathtaking scenery and unique culture.
