Since his last victory at Torrey Pines, Woods has missed the 54-hole cut (2014) and withdrew after 11 holes with tightness in his back ... This is the first time Jason Day is competing against a full field since the Deutsche Bank Championship in early September ... Andrew Coltart won the first Qatar Masters ... Ernie Els won the Qatar Masters in 2005 and is playing for the ninth time. He missed the cut last week in the Singapore Open ... Wang Jeung-hun of South Korea and Li Haotong of China, the top two rookies on the European Tour last year, both make their 2017 debut.
