In the morning of April 25, the contract signing ceremony for the establishment of the shield machine manufacture enterprise, a joint venture of Tianjin City Construction Group, China First Heavy Industries, Japanese Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Japanese Shinko Ltd. and Tianjin Tianbao Investment Company, was held in the Guest House. Yang Dongliang, Executive Vice-Mayor of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, and Gou Lijun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Binhai Newly Developed Area, both attended the ceremony.
Before the signing ceremony, Yang Dongliang and Gou Lijun met with the general manager of China First Heavy Industries and the head of the other four enterprises of this joint venture to express congratulations to the establishment of the joint venture company on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and government, and briefly introduced the socio-economic development of Tianjin and the development and opening-up of Binhai Newly Developed Area. Yang Dongliang said, “China First Heavy Industries is our country’s major equipment enterprise and has strong capacity in the field of heavy machine, R & D and manufacturing.
As one of the 20 major industrial projects in Tianjin, China First Heavy Industries’ manufacture base construction project in Binhai, Tianjin has carried out smoothly and can have part of the manufacturing capacity by the end of this year. The machine and equipment industry is Tianjin’s pillar industry and has good basis for development. The consolidation of five strong domestic and foreign enterprises in the establishment of the joint venture will speed up our work of introducing advanced technologies, upgrade the overall level of Tianjin’s equipment and manufacturing industry, and push forward our city’s to be manufacturer of the complete set of equipment.” Tianjin municipality will create first class conditions, provide all-around services and support the construction of this project with all efforts.
It is reported that at present, the shield machine is internationally universal and advanced equipment for the construction of underground tunnels which is the product of many fields of science and technology research and has broad application prospects in the construction of urban subway, highway and railway tunnels, as well as cross river and strait tunnels. The joint venture company will be settled in China Heavy Industries’ manufacturing base located in the Binhai area of Tianjin. The first stage investment will be 40 million yuan, mainly for the design and manufacturing of the shield machine and the development and production of the duct piece mould and related products.
