This temple, also known as Guang'an, is on the eastern bank of the Qingshui River in the town of Taihuai at the northern entrance of Ming-and-Qing St. It was built in the Qianlong reign (1736-1795) of the Qing and rebuilt in the Daoguang reign (1821).

The temple, which covers 5,180 square meters, faces south and is a home of of the living Buddha Zhangjia. The main hall has paintings of Tsonkhapa and the 10-faced Avalokitesvara at its front and Manjusric, Avalokitesvara and Vajrapani at the back. Both sides have murals, one depicting the Tang priest's journey to gather scriptures and 500 arhats, the other telling the story of of Buddha Jataka, in a colorful way, but they have seriously suffered from various kinds of damage.

The Shanxi tourism bureau and Wutai Mountain government had an archway built there, in 1992, with wooden corridors, and 51 sheds on the eastern, northern and western sides to hold 120 stone tablets that contain engravings of modern and contemporary calligraphers.
