A new anti-virus program developed by students at Shanxi University (SXU) was recently awarded a prize by an innovation and entrepreneurship competition held in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

The students' creation, named the Security Protection Assistant Software, was developed for the Android platform and entered the final review of the first selected works for the exhibition, winning a prize as the only selected works from Shanxi universities.

The exhibition was a major part of the Higher Education Expo China (2018 autumn session) (HEEC), sponsored by China Association of Higher Education in Chengdu between Oct 19 and 21.

Organized by the innovation and entrepreneurship education branch of China Association of Higher Education, Southwest Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and Central South University, the exhibition aimed to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among undergraduates in China.

Throughout the online review and on-site selection over the past three months, 133 entries out of more than 350 related to mechanical control, energy and chemicals, culture and creativity, life sciences, and information technology from some 90 colleges and universities, including such prestigious establishments as Tsinghua University, Peking University and Zhejiang University –– entered the final review and were displayed at the exhibition.
