The final contest of the 2014 "Creation of the Youth" - Chinese College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition was held at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology from Nov 1st to 4th. Five pieces of work from Shanxi University distinguished among over 100,000 works, and won one silver-prize and four bronze-prizes, and the university was awarded with "Outstanding School-level Organizations" for its excellent achievements.

The contest was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Association for Science and Technology, All-China Students Federation and the People's Government of Hubei Province.

The competition originates from the "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program Competition, which began in 1999. In 2014, the "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program Competition adopted the model of "three plus two" to reflect the demand of the times and to emphasize the current tendency. "Three" means three major competitions——"Challenge Cup" entrepreneurship plan competition, entrepreneur practice challenge competition, and public entrepreneurship competition. Whereas "two" means two special contests: MBA and mobile Internet entrepreneurship contest.

It is learned that over 2,000 universities and colleges from Mainland China and Hong Kong have taken part in this competition, with nearly 100,000 works for school-level competition, and nearly 20,000 works for provincial-level competition. In the end, 385 entrepreneurship items from 209 universities and colleges entered the final contest, forming a contest system of the school level, provincial level and national level.
