Shanxi province will carry out a service event targeting impoverished rural patients with serious diseases in July and August, according to the Health and Family Planning Commission of Shanxi.
It is expected that more than 4,000 patients with any of 24 serious diseases will receive the treatment. The 24 diseases include childhood leukemia, breast cancer, acute myocardial infarction and hyperthyroidism.
The treatment event will adopt a payment method under the Diagnosis Related Group System and give full play to basic medical insurance, insurance for serious diseases and the medical assistance system to relieve patients of the burden of medical expenses.
