Jiao Binlong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, called for the development of Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center into a national-level one, during the annual political advisory session in Beijing.
Given that China has started establishing national coal transaction centers and promoting medium-and-long term contracts, as well as the advantages of Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center in operations and Shanxi in coal resources, Jiao suggested building the coal transaction center into a national one to maximize the market mechanism and improve efficiency of resource allocation.
Currently, Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center has more than 12,600 registered dealers, making it the coal transaction market platform with the biggest spot trade volume and largest number of dealers in China.
