Shanghai Shimao Dream City and Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park at the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort were recently listed in the first batch of Shanghai's digital scenic spots.

The list was made by the city's culture and tourism bureau in an effort to promote the digital transformation of scenic spots in Shanghai.

By using modern information technologies such as the internet of things, big data and artificial intelligence, a digital scenic spot features intelligent operation management and personalized tourism services like the electronic entrance control system, GPS vehicle dispatching and an intelligent panoramic guide map, which are intended to improve tourists' experiences.

Shanghai Shimao Dream City is a comprehensive theme park which consists of the outdoor Wonderland Park and the indoor Smurfs Park. A glass walkway was built on the edge of a cliff in the park, which is the first of its kind in Shanghai. The park also has a replica of a Smurf village scene and holds parade performances regularly.

Dubbed the "Root of Shanghai," Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park is a must-visit attraction at Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort as it offers visitors a chance to explore the origins of Shanghai and the city's ancient ways of life through a series of well-preserved relics.

As Shanghai's two new digital scenic spots, both plan to further improve their monitoring systems to ensure safety, create new high-tech travel experiences and provide more personalized online services.
