A music festival featuring popular idols and bands will open with style at the Shanghai Happy Valley to usher in the new year.

The festival will run from Dec 24 to Jan 3, making Shanghai Happy Valley an ideal place to celebrate the Christmas season around Dec 25 as well as New Year's Day on Jan 1.

During the festival, a variety of activities will be held, including music performances by six popular bands, fireworks shows, artificial snowfall, and some special surprise activities.

Tourist will also have the chance to meet internet celebrities appearing as non-player characters, or NPCs.

Performances of Scottish bagpipe, saxophone and violin will also be held across Shanghai Happy Valley in various play areas.

For those keen on taking photos, Shanghai Happy Valley has prepared special spots such as a light and shadow tunnel, a Christmas hut and a colorful candy station.

Shanghai Happy Valley is a popular amusement park for all ages as it boasts a variety of entertainment facilities, including rollercoasters. It is a 4A-level tourist attraction located within the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort.
