An exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up opened in Shanghai's Jiading district on Oct 25 and will last till Dec 31. It is already attracting a lot of locals.
Over 500 photos and more than 100 items such as radio cassette recorders and old tally books are displayed at the exhibition.
These everyday public exhibits showcase Jiading's social and economic development achievements in the past 40 years.
Multi-media technology is also applied in the exhibition to offer a better viewing experience.
"The skyline of Jiading, which was only 40 m decades ago, has reached 200 meters. We no longer rely on ration tickets to buy things like we used to in the old days for there are many large shopping malls in the district," said Xu Chunhua, a local resident.
"This exhibition is really great for it can recall many beautiful memories and let us feel the changes that the reform and opening-up have brought to us," Xu added.
