A ground-breaking ceremony for the second stage project of the Shanghai Financial Valley in the city's Jiading district was launched on Sept 28.
More than 300 representatives from government departments, financial associations and companies attended the ceremony and saw the project's blueprints, which were displayed by the latest virtual reality technology.
Some companies including a financial data processing center signed agreements with the valley at the ceremony, saying that they will move in when the project is completed.

The valley also hosted a summit on financial innovation and service outsourcing on the same day, attracting more than 200 financial specialists.
The attendees agreed that an era of new finance is coming and discussed hot issues such as development trends, transformation, and opportunities for financial services in the new era.
According to the organizer, the event is a platform for financial service professionals to exchange ideas.
Shanghai Financial Valley, inaugurated in April, 2015, is an industrial base for financial service outsourcing and Internet finance. It has joined hands with the Lujiazui Financial City and the Bund financial cluster in downtown Shanghai to form an integrated financial service system, helping meet the city's goal of becoming an international financial center.
