Jiading district of Shanghai launched a themed event to demonstrate local social organizations' charitable achievements on Dec 5, local media reported.
The event included an exhibition on charity programs, a market on charitable purposes and art performances, enabling local residents to gain a better understanding of the district's charity moves and results.

The performances, which featured sitcoms, recitals and speeches were based on the real life events of local volunteers and charity programs, said the organizers.
Local authorities said that since 2013 they carried out a total of 113 charity programs on residents' livelihood, culture and social stability maintenance.

Meanwhile, the social organizations and individuals that did better on charity also received awards at the event.
