Shanghai’s Jiading district recently signed a cooperation framework agreement with Huawei Technologies Co, a leading Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company, to jointly promote the construction of a smart city in the district.
According to the agreement, both sides will focus on social livelihoods and urban management and cooperate in the fields of top-level design and project promotions.
Huawei will support the district in the top-level design improvement and construction of information security. It will also offer cloud computing solutions to the platform services and explore business models for the project’s implementation.
Jiading is currently making efforts to construct a modern new city featuring technology and high-end manufacturing. As a way to enhance local overall competitiveness, the smart city program is being promoted with parallel achievements in various fields, including medical treatment, education, transportation, government administration and community services.
