The company is a Sino-American joint venture co-invested by the Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems Ltd and Johnson Controls International Ltd. Established in December 1997 with a total investment of $53.08 million, the company specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing and selling complete auto seats and seat parts, including mechanism parts, trim covers, foams, sun-visors and roofs.
Its main customers are automakers such as Shanghai GM, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai Hui Zhong, Dongfeng Nissan and Dongfeng Yueda Kia. At the same time, it exports trim covers and mechanism parts to Europe, North America and Japan. Currently the company has four production bases in Shanghai's Kangqiao, Kanghua, Anting and Nanhui and has established subsidiaries in Yantai and Yancheng. It also has its own joint ventures in Guangzhou, Chongqing and Shanghai.
Based on advanced management systems and concepts, the company observes a proprietary global business operating system and has passed the TS16949 and VDA6.1 quality certification, the ISO14000 environmental certification and the OHSAS18000 safety and health certification.
The company has been growing rapidly over the years as a result of its remarkable operational performance. In 2005, its sales revenue reached 3.73 billion yuan, of which $120 million was earned from exports. Currently, the company ranks 43rd among Shanghai's top 500 industrial enterprises.
