The 2016 Qingdao International Fashion Week will be held from May 11 to 15 in the city of Shandong province, Qingdao Daily reported.

With the theme of "Finery decorates the city", this year's fashion week will stage 38 shows at four venues, featuring brand launches and exhibitions, competitions and forums in a bid to search for talented new fashion designers and promote the development of China’s high-end garment industry.

A series of business networking activities will also be held during the event. Designers and distributors can take advantage of these platforms to win orders and investment from e-commerce companies and industrial fund institutions.

According to the organizing committee, along with the 2016 China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week, the seventh China Fashion Knitwear Design Competition and the fifth Children's Model Show will also be held. Other major activities will include aesthetics seminars, forums and salons featuring fashion designers.

"During the fashion week, a brand new fashion center will be built to combine key fashion elements in the coastal city," said Wang Wei, deputy director of Qingdao economic and information technology committee.
