The Key Laboratory of Marine Ecology and Environmental Sciences is a facility of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and open to domestic and overseas universities and institutes.

The Laboratory includes the Institute of Oceanology.

Key Laboratory was founded on a combination of marine ecology and marine environmental sciences laboratories. It has strong research teams with advanced equipment, and is well known domestically and internationally.
