Zhangjiagang city has recently released a trial regulation for assessing government performance in promoting ecological progress.

The rule will serve as a guideline for government departments at all levels in the city to enhance efforts to build a “beautiful Zhangjiagang” and take the lead in becoming a national ecological progress demonstration area.

Over the past few years, Zhangjiagang city has made great achievements in protecting the environment and promoting ecological progress.

It was recognized as the first national environmental protection model city, the first national ecologically friendly city and the first pilot area of ecological progress. It was the only city that was awarded the Special Contribution Prize in Promoting Ecological Progress in Jiangsu in 2012.

By improving the performance mechanism, Zhangjiagang will further boost the benefits brought by a better ecological environment.
