Zhangjiagang city recently established insurance for voluntary blood donors as special thanks for their kind behavior.

The insurance covers volunteers against medical treatment, disability and death due to accidents and is paid for by the blood center of Zhangjiagang city.

Anyone who donates his or her blood at any official blood collection site in the city can enjoy the one-year insurance without signing any contracts with insurance companies.

The insurance becomes effective on the day of the donation and the highest claim of the policy is up to 110,000 yuan ($17,853) for each insured person.
