Xizhu town and Zhoutie town in Yixing, Wuxi were honored as China's most beautiful health-preserving town and China's most beautiful civilized town at the awards ceremony for the 2018 China's Most Beautiful Villages and Towns, Wuxi Daily reported on Nov 14.

The "China's Most Beautiful Villages and Towns" selection was initiated in 2013 by the China Business Network (CBN), China's leading financial media group. Themed on "finding model villages and building models of revitalization", the event has nine awards, and includes processes of public voting and expert review. This year 60 villages and towns around the world received awards.

Xizhu town boasts such famous tourist attractions as Yunhu scenic spot, the national civilized village Baita village, and Ink Garden Hot Spring Resort. Xizhu highlights its the tourism products with a focus on tea culture, dhyana culture and folk history, enabling visitors to enjoy a leisure and health tour.

Zhoutie town, with a history of over 2,700 years, features rural civilization and simple folk customs. It has attached great importance to the protection and inheritance of local culture, holding the ancient-town culture and tourism festival and Taihu Lake kite festival. The town has been named one of "China's Most Beautiful Villages and Towns" for three years.
