After three years of construction, and at a cost of 300 million yuan, the museum opened to the public in 2012. It sits on Yuebai Bay near Mashan Isle and is a key Helv relic protection project.
Over time it expects to develop into a landmark, showing the birthplace of Wu culture and for promoting archaeological research.
