The maintenance of the road network has taken lead in Jiangsu. The national and provincial exemplary trunk highways in Nantong at provincial level reached 460 km, accounting for 56.3 percent of the total mileage. Green channels reached 550 km, accounting for 67.3 percent of the total mileage. Quality control and highway maintenance continue to take lead in the province. In recent years, the acceptance rate of quality inspection of the city's major projects achieved 100 percent, heading the list of evaluation organized by the provincial department of transportation. The performance on quality supervision of traffic projects was recognized by the department of transportation.
