Traditional Chinesse musical instruments, especially stringed and bamboo-made pipe instruments, remain popular among residents of the town, despite modern influences. Whenever there is a performance from local artists in one of the town's many quaint buildings, it is almost certain to be packed to the rafters with traditional music lovers.
