The second stop was the lake town of Dianshan, which offered students a taste of rural life and a chance to take on some independence. Independence was greatly encouraged and kids had to make their own beds, got a unique experience about rural life at their second stop – Dianshan Lake town – where they made the bed, fried eggs, caught crayfish and loach, fetched water from the wells and did gourd colored paintings all by themselves, and even wrote letters to their parents.
