Teams from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand and domestic teams from Fujian, Henan, Hubei, Beijing, Liaoning, and Chaotianhou Scenic Area took part in the 2013 China Yichang International Rafting Competition in natural waters on June 29.

The event's main sponsor was the Water Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration and the championship went to the team of the Chaotianhou Scenic Area, New Zealand came second, and the Liaoning team came third.

Chaotianhou Scenic Area is the only 4A class drifting destination in China, and it was built by Yichang Xingfa Co.,Ltd, six years ago. Its fixed asset investment reaches 75 million yuan($ 12.23 million) and it has received more than 300,000 visitors.

The area's comprehensive income is 250 million yuan($ 40.75 million), and it aims to become a 5A class tourist destination within the next few years.
