Hubei University of Education (HUE) is a leading institution of higher learning in teacher education in China and remains strongly committed in excellence in school teachers' professional development ever since it was founded in 1931.

HUE is in the city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province in central China, and its 20,000 students come from across the country. The Optics Valley Campus is in the East Lake Hi-Tech Development Zone, China’s biggest photoelectron information industry center, which is often referred to as the Opticics Valley of Wuhan. Of the 800 faculty members, 44% have intermediate and senior professional titles (such as lecturer or professor) and 46% have masters or doctoral degrees.

HUE has 15 schools and departments, which provides 28 undergraduates specialties and 31 junior college specialties. HUE also provides short-term Mandarin Chinese training and bachelor degree programs for international students. These programs mainly focus on Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing and culture.

The international students who are interested in Chinese language and culture are warmly welcomed to study in the university and commence their journey of exploration of over five thousands years’ Chinese history and culture here inside and outside the campus.

Programs & Study Period

1.Short-term Chinese Training ProgramThe training program lasts from 3 weeks to 8 weeks according to trainee’s needs and requirement. Apart from language training, this program would usually arrange various cultural activities and travels upon students’ request. Group applications are welcomed all the year round.

We provide Chinese language courses for international students. Our professional teachers will help the students master the language in listening, speaking, reading and writing. In order to guarantee the teaching quality and effect, we will divide the students into different classes of beginning, middle and high levels according to their Chinese language proficiency. The number of students in each class will be strictly kept small.Those who wish to enter advanced studies in Chinese or a short-term cultural training program can contact the Admission Office at any time.

A non-degree student will be issued a certificate of completion of studies upon conclusion of learning provided the relevant requirements have been met. One who has failed to meet the requirements will be issued a transcript.

2．Programs for Chinese language students: Chinese Language students, who intend to study for half a year to two years, please contact the Admission Office for details at your convenient time.

Eligibility：Age 16 or Above

Application Materials:　①Application Form for International Students; ② A Copy of the applicant’s passport

※ ①Diploma and transcripts should be in Chinese or English. Japanese or Korean version needs to be translated into Chinese or English and should be notarized.

②Applicants should have no criminal record and in good health.

Application Method and Procedures

1. Application Method

Self-supporting students should apply directly to the Admission Office of School of International Education, Hubei University of Education. Date of admission: September 20th

2. Application Procedures

Step one：Ask for Application Form for International Students from School of International Education, Hubei University of Education or download the Application Form HERE.

Step two: The Application Form, application fee and other related documents should be sent by post, fax or E-mail directly to Admission Office before the application deadline.

Step three: Hubei University of Education Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China (Jw202) will be sent to the students who have been admitted.

Step four: Admitted students should take Admission Notice, Visa Application for Study in China （JW202）and Physical Examination Record to the local Chinese embassy to apply for visa to China(X or F visa.)　

Step five: Admitted students should bring Admission Notice, Visa Application for Study in China （JW202），passports, personal registration photos (8 for each person) and Physical Examination forms (including the original blood text report, X-ray photo and the original of electrocardiogram) to register at Hubei University of Education within the registration period written in the Admission Notice and obtain the Residence Permit within 30 days after entering China. Otherwise, they will lose their students status. Exception can be made to student who has informed the school of their special reasons and whose delay has been permitted.

COST

1．Application fee: RMB 300yuan (US$50)

2．Fees for each student of a short-term class of Chinese language: RMB600yuan (US$100) per week.

3. The fees for each student of Chinese culture class are to be mutually agreed and fixed by the 2 parties according to study time, content and the tour costs.

4. Accommodation: Single room: RMB 1200yuan (US$ 190)monthly per person, including air-conditioner, Shower bath, TV set, Internet access, Toilet, etc.

5. The medical, living and teaching material costs are paid by the students themselves.

Students intending to stay in China for more than one semester shall join international medical insurance for accidental injury and hospitalization.

Food cost: In general, the cost is RMB 20yuan (US$ 3.0) per day per person.
