Great efforts to meet the standard for the National Healthy City and the National Civilized City

During December 2014, the local government in Nanyang proposed to motivate the whole city to meet the national standard as a healthy and civilized city.

Thanks to the measures the government has taken, great changes have taken place in the city. With extra asphalt roads and more street flower beds being built, the environment of the city has greatly improved.

Nanyang has been rewarded as the happiest city in Henan province in July 2016, a powerful testament to the city's social improvement.

The construction of the Baihe River waterfront greenway

The waterfront greenway along the Baihe River opened to the public on June 28, 2014. The greenway stretches 15.6 kilometers, passing from Hexuefeng Bridge to the south and Nanyang Bridge to the north.

Designed as a pedestrian-focused path, the greenway's infrastructure was built out of wood and the paved walking area connects all of the city's squares, pavilions, and green belts, providing a perfect place for local residents to exercise or socialize.
