Guiyang will subsidize 100,000 yuan ($16,300) to each person who buys a new energy vehicle, according to the city's industry and information committee on Nov 12.
In order to boost the popularity of new energy automobiles in Guiyang, the city government recently launched a local subsidy program – those who buy a hybrid electric vehicle with a coach longer than 10 meters or a battery electric passenger car can receive a subsidy of 100,000 yuan. In addition, when local enterprises and units buy a new energy vehicle, they will get another 250,000 yuan according to the national subsidy policy.
Guiyang will allocate 2 million yuan for the construction of a new energy vehicles data collection platform and 10 million yuan for charging stations.
"We want to sell 1,500 new energy vehicles by the end of 2015," said an official at the industry and information committee in Guiyang.
