Tunpu culture, which is unique to Anshun, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has a 600-year history. It attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from home and abroad, and now is under restoration to retain its primitive style and features, which have changed, according to Yao Xingcan, from Guizhou Tourism Investment Group, on January 13.

It is reported that 140 old buildings in the Tianlongtunpu scenic spot will be restored to their original style. The restoration job of 70 old buildings has been completed.

"We spare no efforts to restore the primitive style and features of Tunpu culture," Yao said. They launched the restoration job in October 2014.

The primitive architectural style and infrastructures in the scenic spot are the two main sectors the restoration job focuses on.

"I have noticed that many primitive Tunpu-cultural elements come back to the village," according to a college student born in Tianlongtunpu, a famous Tunpu-cultural scenic spot.

"The restoration of village-level projects will be completed in late May of this year," said Yao.
