A senior official of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone visited a village in Zhonglou township on August 8, and called on residents to strive for development and continue their hard work to achieve prosperity.

Gong Qinggai, director of the Pingtan administrative committee, visited Daping village, which is located in an old revolutionary base.

He urged young villagers to take advantage of new opportunities that are available due to Pingtan's opening up and reform.

Gong said he agreed with some of the residents who aim to modernize their farming techniques, saying that this would meet the needs of the island county and would also help increase villagers' income.

Gong also said that the residents are responsible for improving the environment of their village.
