The summer fishing moratorium ended in the waters of Pingtan county, in Fujian province on Aug 1. Many fishing boats returned with a boatful of fish recently.

Various kinds of fresh and inexpensive seafood attracted many fishmongers. A restaurateur near the fishing port said that he came here early to buy big crabs at hearing about many fishing boats were coming back in the evening.

Lin Xinzhu, a head of a fishing boat, said seafood including hairtail, squid and crab had been classified and packed in the boat.

Fishing with trawls is the primary fishing method in Pingtan and fishing boats mainly catch fish in the Niushan Fisheries and the MinZhong Fisheries.
