Pingtan county in Fujian province will hold a marathon tournament inviting both couples and singles on August 24.

Participants will run along Huandao (Island Ring) Road from 5 pm to 10 pm on that day. The event is co-organized by agencies from Pingtan and Taiwan.

The marathon is divided to four categories – the full marathon, half-marathon, 5-kilometer marathon and 3-kilometer marathon – as a leisure sport so lovers can run shoulder to shoulder.

The 3-kilometer marathon is mainly for single people. It is more of a brisk walk than a run, said the organizing committee, adding that they can make friends during the course.
