A team from Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), headed by its vice general-manger Wang Minhao, visited Pingtan on June 19 for pre-investment investigation.

With the improvement of its infrastructure construction, Pingtan's main focus in the next stage will be industry cultivation, mechanism innovation and enhancement of cross-Straits communication, said Gong Qinggai, director of the Pingtan administrative committee.

Pingtan hopes to build itself into a cross-Straits logistics and service hub, providing wider cooperative space for Pingtan and PowerChina, he added.

PowerChina has been engaging in Pingtan's development and will land more projects in the pilot zone, said Wang.
