The Pingtan Kitesufing Promotion Center has been granted the right to offer training in kitesurfing training, according to Pingtan's official website.

The International Kiteboarding Organization, a certification body for international kitesufing training, granted the right to Pingtan, an island in Southeast China's Fujian province. It is the first time the organization has issued a kitesufing training certificate in China.

The authorization means that the Pingtan Kitesufing Promotion Center is now qualified to hold kitesufing training sessions, to issue certificates for kite riders and organize kitesufing referee trainings – and this is expected to lead to the development of the sport in China.
