Pingnan registers high growth rate

Pingnan registered a 14 percent year-on-year GDP growth rate in the first quarter, the fastest among all regions in Ningde city.

The county’s GDP totalled 917 million yuan ($146 million) in the first three months.

The fast growth is attributable to the county’s drive to introduce outside investment and accelerate the launch of its key projects. It has mapped out plans for the development of tourism in the county and organized a series of commercial introduction activities in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Xiamen and Xi’an. So far this year, Pingnan has secured investment contracts worth 1.16 billion yuan, and construction for all the investment projects has begun.

The county authorities have selected 36 key projects to put them on top of their agenda and have devised policies to facilitate the implementation of those projects.
