A total of 16 basketball teams from Pingtan and Taiwan converged on Pingtan Stadium, competing in a cross-Straits basketball tournament on April 4.

The teams from Taiwan were composed of eight youth basketball teams, and two adult teams from seven schools. The games adopted rules made by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), such as two referees in a game.

"It is our first time to take part in a game in Pingtan and all the teams carried out intense training before the competition," said Cheng Depei, deputy president of the Taiwan Xiaoma Youth Basketball Association. "We could learn a lot from each other through the game."
