There is an entire class of women with 28 years of experience at the State Grid's Nanping Power Supply Co, in the city of Nanping, Fujian province, five of whom, with an average age of 46, are responsible for the maintenance of electric cables in the urban Nanping. In those 28 years, they have done more than 500 cable repairs, often in dark, cramped spaces, and have added more than 3,000 cable junctions, and laid more than 180 kilometers of cable, with a remarkable record that has won them commendations.
