The seventh Xiamen International Animation Festival will be held from Aug 15 to 19 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.

A total of 12 activities will be held during the festival, such as the animation forum, animation games and technology exhibition, cosplay performance and “Beautiful Xiamen” artwork competition.

This year, the Gold Dolphin award alone has attracted 43 participating countries and regions. The number of booths for overseas animation and game companies is predicted to be 125.

Moreover, several well-known animation creators will come in person to make keynote speeches at the festival, including Michael Coldeway, special effects film producer of Captain America and Iron Man; Ken Tsumur, who worked on the animated film Astro Boy; and Anastasia Dimitra, president of the International Animated Film Association.

So far, the exhibition has attracted 25 enterprises from Taiwan with 90 booth reservations, three times more than that of last year.

The festival has provided a good platform for animation industry communication and cooperation. During the festival, there will be salons and meetings for enterprises in the animation game industry and related industries to share ideas, promote cooperation and integrate resources.
